Record the storefront identity first
Save the visible store name, exact domain, contact page, legal or policy names, email addresses, social links, checkout host, order-confirmation details, and capture time. Check whether links lead to another domain. Keep spelling and punctuation exactly as displayed so a reviewer can search the same identifiers.
Check public domain records carefully
ICANN Lookup or the relevant registry may show the registrar, name servers, registration dates, and a privacy or proxy service. Privacy protection is common and is not evidence of misconduct. The registrar is a report route, not necessarily the site owner or host.
Recognize platform signals as clues
Checkout behavior, response headers, DNS targets, theme assets, or platform-specific paths can suggest Shopify, but any one signal can be stale, proxied, or imitated. Capture several independent public signals, state your confidence, and do not publish personal attribution based on an inference.
Map the issue to the provider
- Shopify merchant tools for relevant storefront conduct.
- The registrar's abuse contact for domain-policy issues.
- The actual host or CDN's published abuse route for hosted content.
- Payment, advertising, or social platforms for activity on their systems.
If the available signals indicate Shopify, use Shopify's official merchant-report tool . Verify every provider URL from its official site instead of copying an old address from a third-party directory.
Keep owner identification and legal conclusions separate
A trading name, domain registrant, corporate record, payment descriptor, and platform account can refer to different entities. Record each fact with its source. If identifying a person or compelling account records is essential, seek qualified legal advice and use the appropriate lawful process.
