Copycat store evidence checklist

1. Establish the two sides of the comparison

• Your canonical home, product, collection, and policy URLs.
• The suspected store's exact corresponding URLs.
• Capture date, time zone, resolved URL, and HTTP status for each.
• A case ID that stays consistent across files and submissions.

2. Preserve the public page

Save full-page screenshots plus the readable page title, description, visible text, and relevant images. Keep the original capture immutable; add annotations or side-by-side comparisons as separate files. A hash of saved HTML can help demonstrate that the stored capture was not edited.

3. Identify the exact copied elements

• Logo, brand name, slogan, or confusing source claim.
• Product photography, illustration, video, or written description.
• Fabricated authorization, outlet, partnership, or guarantee claim.
• Customer-confusion evidence with personal details redacted.

4. Assemble ownership support

Link to official originals and public registrations where applicable. Retain dated source files, publication records, photographer or designer agreements, and authorization to act. Do not assume that receiving a product photo from a supplier transfers the right to enforce it.

5. Choose and track the route

Match the facts to copyright, trademark, fraud, phishing, or another provider category. Save the submitted URL list, attachments, date, declarations, confirmation number, response, and next follow-up date. Keep legal notices separate from ordinary customer-support complaints.

Final quality check

Can a reviewer open every URL, see what was captured, understand what you own or observed, and reproduce the comparison without guessing? Remove irrelevant personal information and clearly label any inference or automated similarity result.
